The Saco River has become a true success story for returning a waterway back to a clean environment that attracts fish and wildlife. Today the Saco River boasts a world class striped bass fishery. Many of the sportsman at the marina now fish for these prizes with fly rods. Former President Bush casts for stripers and blues just off the mouth of the Saco River. Saco Bay provides plenty of exciting fishing for mackerel, bluefish, and ground fish.
Further off shore, bluefin tuna lure the ardent fishermen. No less than 12 tuna were boated by fishermen from Marston's Marina during the 1998 season. |
